Say hi to Faith!
My name is Faith Foushee and I’m a freelance writer and digital nomad. I’m passionate about building community and exploring the Earth with incredible people.

The Nomad Story
1. How did you start your digital nomad journey?
I started my digital nomad journey because I got the opportunity to do a work exchange with a coliving company. I earned a free stay on exchange for volunteering as the community manager for the home. I’d always wanted to become a digital nomad but didn’t know how, so this opportunity gave me the chance to see if it’s a lifestyle I wanted to pursue.
2. How do you balance work, travel, and personal time?
It’s a lot and it can get tiring but it’s so worth it. I prioritize work & doing the things that make me feel myself, like cooking and working out. I also like to stay places longer so there’s no rush to see everything all at once. Usually when I get to a new place, I’ll take a day or two to get set up and explore a bit. Then I feel good getting back into work.
3. What’s your most memorable travel story?
I was in Medellin Colombia for three months and we took weekend trips every so often. One weekend we went to Nuqui and it was the most remote place I’ve ever been and the most unique experience I’ve had. It rained almost the entire time, but after 24 hours, we kinda got used to it. The area was so beautiful and truly could not be captured in photos.
4. What’s your biggest challenge as a digital nomad?
I’m really close with my family so I’ve been balancing being home and away. I just started a year ago so I’m figuring out what works. Last year, I was gone for 3 months at a time and back for a few months. This year, I’m home for 5 months and will be gone for 4-5.
5. How do you stay healthy while traveling the world?
Maintaining my health is very important to me. I look for places where everything I need is in walking distance. Before I go, I make sure there’s a gym I can use and also somewhere to go for a walk. I find other nomads are wellness focused, so that helps too.

16. Please share your go-to app, website, or a resource that helps you stay connected, manage finances, find accommodation, etc.
I use nomadico and Facebook groups or Instagram for finding accommodation. To stay connected, I use WhatsApp. For finances, I stay pretty frugal and use Stride to track my business income and expenses.
Let’s Wrap Up
17. If you could give one piece of advice to new nomads, what would it be?
The first leap is scary, but it’s so much easier when you put yourself in a place where you can easily make friends. Staying in a coliving space can sometimes be more expensive, but it’s worth it to have a community of people to support you and explore the place with. It’s also fun to balance being social and having your own time, so it’s fun to learn about yourself in that way.
Check out Nomadico coliving!! They have locations around the world and are adding more now. I’m happy to answer questions, especially about the Colombia, Tarifa and Mallorca locations. This link is a referral link, but it does not cost anything extra, it just supports me.
